What this guide covers

The National Consumer Helpline is a Department of Consumer Affairs pre-litigation mechanism. It accepts grievances through 1915, the web portal, app, UMANG, WhatsApp and other listed channels, and issues a docket number for tracking.

What to do now

First send the seller or service provider a concise written complaint. If unresolved, register with NCH, select the correct sector and company, explain the requested remedy, and upload readable evidence. Track the docket and add information when requested.

Keep these records

Keep invoice, warranty, order page, payment proof, correspondence, photographs, cancellation or refund terms and the NCH docket number.

Where to go

Call 1915 or use consumerhelpline.gov.in. If the dispute remains unresolved, consider the appropriate Consumer Commission.
