Driving a massive nationwide momentum toward institutionalizing cleanliness and E-Waste management, CPSEs under Ministry of Coal have been delivering stellar outcomes under Special Campaign 6. The initiative has successfully unlocked valuable office space, generated substantial revenue through efficient waste management, and streamlined internal record-keeping to foster a cleaner, more productive work culture.

With its implementation phase running up to 31st October, CPSEs successfully cleaned 1,696 sites against an initially identified target of 1,565 sites, covering a massive area of 130.16 lakh square feet—surpassing the targeted cleaning area of 101.80 lakh square feet.

In addition to transforming workspace environments, the campaign yielded substantial economic and environmental benefits through efficient waste management. A total of 16,158 Metric Tons of scrap was successfully disposed of, exceeding the projected target of 10,909 Metric Tons. This extensive scrap disposal generated significant revenue amounting to ₹53,94,62,602.45 (approx. ₹53.94 Crore) for the exchequer.

Furthermore, administrative efficiency was significantly enhanced through rigorous record management and digitization efforts. Officials reviewed 78,635 physical files and e-files against a target of 59,593 and total files weeded out and closed are 70,093, reflecting a streamlined approach to governance and office procedures.

Reinforcing their dedication to institutionalizing cleanliness and sustainable administrative workflows, CPSEs under the Ministry of Coal are setting benchmarks through pioneering Swachhata initiatives and effective space management strategies. Prominent best practices executed during the campaign include:

•An e-waste collection bin has been fabricated using recycled scrap materials at SECL HQ. Placed for systematic collection and segregation of electronic waste, it promotes effective disposal in line with the campaign objective of "Effective collection, segregation and disposal of e-waste."
•Modernization of CIL HQ Canteen: Renamed as Cilantro and inaugurated on 05.10.2026 after a comprehensive renovation spanning nearly 10 years, the project upgraded canteen infrastructure and ambience to ensure a hygienic, comfortable, and employee-friendly dining environment.
•Educational Support for Tribal Girls by WCL: At Mata Sabri Balika Awasiya Shiksha Parisar (Parasia, Chhindwara), WCL provided educational and basic facility support to over 160 girl students, primarily from tribal and mining-area communities, to pursue higher education.
•Waste to Wonder Workshops for Kids by WCL: Interactive workshops organized for children to encourage creative recycling, transforming waste into wealth and instilling early environmental responsibility.
•Promoting Menstrual Hygiene at Workplace: Installation of sanitary napkin vending machines at CIL HQ to enhance access to menstrual hygiene products for women employees and visitors, fostering an inclusive and women-friendly workplace environment.
